5 gritty indie horror films you should see

Every year there are lots of / horror films released to critics (at all like me) for review. Often, we simply cannot get to all of them. That being said, while rummaging from the sludge, there are often hidden gems within the muddy stack.
On this day, I want to focus on five horror movies that only make the indie horror movie cut, but deserve a "gritty" mention.
The first can be a sci-fi/horror film called Crawl or Die (review) . A claustrophobic film of horror you won't want to miss.
The second is really a throwback 80's film called After School Massacre (review).
The third horror film for this list is often a complete throwback to improve horror days, called Honeyspider.
After that people have a directorial debut from horror scream queen Jessica Cameron, called Truth or Dare.
Last and surely not least about this list may be the gut wrenching home invasion film from James Cullen Bressack called Hate Crime (review).
